WELCOME TO THE PRINT EDITION OF THE WRITE BRIDGE JOURNAL. INSIDE YOU’LL FIND SELECTED ARTICLES, POEMS, PLAYS AND ARTWORK FROM AUTHORS AND ARTISTS WITH POWERFUL VOICES.

The Write Bridge Literary Journal is available in both print and online versions. We have shared stories by many talented writers from across the Heartland and around the world since 2021. We hope that you are thinking about writing for us, too!

Anamcara Press has published over 120 writers in The Write Bridge online journal so far.
The first issue of The Write Bridge Zine appeared in the Spring of 2021 with the theme: INCLUSION. The second issue, published Fall 2021, had the theme: ISOLATION and EMERGENCE.
The third issue, published Spring 2022, had the theme: HEARTBREAK and DESIRE.
The fourth issue, published Fall 2022, had the theme: FORTITUDE and PUSILLANIMITY.
The fifth issue, published Summer 2023, had the theme: PERILOUS and PLAYFUL.

The theme of the Winter 2023/2024 print and online journal is: Soliltude and Solidarity
The Write Bridge online Zine will continue to be complementary. Please enjoy the 60 page limited – but full-color – online Zine and share with your friends! The Write Bridge unabridged journal is an approximately 200 page book with all of your favorite, and soon to be favorite authors and artists from across the Heartland and beyond.

We are partnering with independent bookstores, libraries, and specialty shops to spread the first print journal of The Write Bridge far and wide! We hope you’ll help us in our effort to broadcast this seed.

The Anamcara Press Online Magazine, THE WRITE BRIDGE – accepts submissions of non-fiction articles, poems, short stories, one-act plays, and original artwork and photography. Each journal issue has a theme. Please review the theme and guidelines below before submitting your work.

FULL-LENGTH MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS

FULL-LENGTH MANUSCRIPTS MAY BE SUBMITTED WITHOUT AN AGENT FOR AN $8 READING FEE

Anamcara Press accepts submissions of full-length manuscripts of fiction, non-fiction, and short story and poetry collections at anytime during the year. We do not return manuscripts, and request online submission. What to include in your submission:

  1. Cover letter: Your full name (and pseudonym if applicable), your address, telephone number, and email address (if you have one). Please tell us about your reader — the person who you’ve written for — how you expect to market your book, and what your qualifications are for writing this work. Also tell us why you think your submission would be a good fit for Anamcara Press.
  2. Synopsis: Please include in the synopsis an estimated word count for your complete manuscript (a synopsis is a brief overview of your work which should not exceed 500 words.)
  3. Your full manuscript. (If you mail your manuscript, please send a copy and retain your original document. Manuscripts will not be returned.)

After paying the $8 submission fee for your full-length manuscript, you will be redirected to a page where you can submit your manuscript.
