POETRY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

A cover letter with contact information such as your full name, include your preferred email address, a writer’s bio of 25 words or less, and a list of your submission titles.

  1. Poems should be no more than 40 lines total, this includes line breaks between stanzas and the title. The poem should fit on one page.
  2. Each poem needs to be on a separate page.
  3. Poems should be single spaced, lines begin at the left margin and should remain so throughout the poem. (The poem loses ‘unique’ formatting when adding them to the site.)
  4. Submit up to three poems.
  5. Lines should be typed in 12 font with 14 font titles.
  6. Read and understand the submission prompt words.

Submit something unusual! Be bold! Be brave! Tell us something new! Any questions about poetry submissions may be directed to Ronda Miller Poetrondamiller@gmail.com

NOTE: Contemporary poetry does not capitalize the first letter of a line, unless it starts a new sentence.

Do a thorough copyedit of your manuscript to make sure it meets today’s grammatical standards. Owl at Purdue has a great library of resources to check on grammar rules you may not be sure of.
