The Tree Who Walked Through Time – A Tree Identification Story is a children’s book created by Lawrence author & photographer Maureen Carroll in collaboration with 18 area artists. The book features realistic and fantastical illustrations of trees including 16 different species of trees that grow in Kansas and regionally.

The Treebook Art Project was inspired by Carroll’s “inability to identify trees, her love of fine art in children’s books, and the lack of distinctively illustrated tree-identification books.” ~ Mary Gage, Lawrence Magazine, Winter 2014/2015.

Profits from hard & soft cover books, coloring books, calendars, cards, art prints, and original art support the Mulvane Art Museum’s educational programs, including the Mulvane Art Lab, and the Kansas Alliance for the Arts in Education (KSAAE), a statewide program to ensure that the arts are an integral part of the education of every pre-K to 12th grade student in Kansas.
