War era correspondence and 70 year old photographs depict an age of heroism and innocence. PHOTOGRAPHER, PARATROOPER, POW: A Wyoming Cowboy in Hitler’s Germany tells the story of three brothers who leave their Wyoming home to fight in World War II. This historical narrative begins with the westward expansion of a tough breed of immigrants, and ends with the rendition of Harold Carroll’s many harrowing escapes from Nazi prisoner of war camps, mostly described in his own words.

“This book relates a compelling story, skillfully written. It is a must read for those who love history and especially those fascinated by World War II history.” Marsha Henry Goff, author of An Crazy Plan: Darby’s Rangers’ Heroic Last Stand at Cisterna

The Boy Whose Branches Reached The Stars – A Tree Identification Story

The Tree Who Walked Through Time – A Tree Identification Story is a children’s picture book written by M. Carroll and lavishly illustrated by 18 artists who created realistic and fantastical replicas of trees. This book helps children identify different species of trees.

This book is a flip book, a two-way tale, in that there are two books in one, with two front covers and no end. The Tree Who Walked Through Time is a story of an old Cottonwood tree who takes a stroll down memory lane, exploring the different trees that grow around him. The Cottonwood, named Prairie Prince, has a conversation with a boy who has fallen asleep under his branches.

Flip the book over to read The Boy Whose Branches Reached the Stars. This is the story of a boy named Peter who is unhappy being short and longs to be tall like a tree. He goes on a stroll through the woods, exploring the different trees he might like to be, and eventually falls asleep underneath the old Cottonwood tree.

The Prom Dress Room is a collection of poetry and illustrations that were inspired by a room at The Social Service League, a thrift store in Lawrence, Kansas.

“One winter I volunteered to clean and organize the dresses. As I sorted through their colorful variety, they began to tell their stories: Who wore this dress? What was her life like? Who would she become? Each week I took one dress home, made my amateur ink drawing, colored it in with fat pencils, and wrote the story of the dress and the young woman who wore it to prom. The result is this collection of nine illustrations and poems, The Prom Dress Room.”

The Prom Dress Room is available as a softcover and E book through Amazon.com.
